RANGERS have received no new offers for players since the first team squad was asked to take a drop in their pay.
And manager Ally McCoist is hopeful that no rival clubs will try to take advantage of their predicament to cut loan deals.
He said: "We have had a couple of phone calls regarding Dean Shiels on loan last week, but there has been nothing other than that.
"But I think that what we said last week would indicate that we would not be wanting to put anybody out on loan.
"Particularly Dean who scored two to win us the game last week.
"We will find out soon enough if clubs try to get players on the cheap. But I would hope that's not the case."
Shiels, who netted two goals in the 2-0 win over East Fife at Ibrox last Saturday, is set to start again against Forfar at Station Park on Monday night.
Nicky Clark has fractured his right foot and will be out of action for around six weeks.
The striker suffered the injury in the SPFL League One game against Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium on January 2 and has not started a game for the Glasgow club since then.
