RANGERS hothead Bilel Mohsni today admitted he fears he will never be able to keep his fiery temper under control.

Mohsni is expected to return to the Gers starting line-up in the SPFL League One game against Stranraer at Stair Park tonight.

The centre-half has completed a two-game ban after being ordered off for kicking a ball at an opponent in the game against Brechin City earlier this month.

It was the second time the French-Tunisian defender, who has become a cult hero at Ibrox, has been red-carded in the 2013/14 campaign.

He admitted that he has a problem with his temperament and is likely to be wound up by opposition fans and players as a result.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has spoken to the former Ipswich Town and Southend United star about his short fuse on more than one occasion this season.

But speaking at the launch of the Hall of Fame awards ceremony, Mohsni predicted that counting to 10 will not work.

He said: "I need to be more clever and more relaxed in the game. But I react to things quickly. I don't have the time to count to one!

"This is my personality. I have changed a lot from when I was younger. But I am still not great. Whenever I come into a new team people think: 'Oh man! He's mad! He's crazy!'

"I want to win every game. I am a very passionate player and I take everything very seriously.

"I try to be fair on the pitch. I don't handle the striker, I don't try to injure the striker. I try every time to take the ball.

Mohsni added: "The other players do it the other way around. This is very hard for me.

"I expect the referee to protect us more because we know in this league that whenever anyone plays us it is a big game for them and they will give everything.

"Sometimes when they give everything it sometimes means more bad kicks."

But Mohsni knows Rangers cannot afford to have him sitting in the stand - having been told in no uncertain terms by irate fans how stupid he was to get sent off.

He said: "To miss two games was frustrating. This red card was a silly red card. I was upset and it was a stupid reaction from myself.

"I did not help the team. Maybe they would have done better with me on Saturday.

"Some fans have been nice, but one said I was a disgrace and I understand. He comes to watch a game and support his team. He wants to see us winning 5-0, 6-0, 7-0.

"I'm more upset at myself after the red card than anybody else."
