There has been a lot of talk about our record at Firhill this season and the fact we went for so long without a home victory was well documented.

We got that monkey off our backs with a really good win over Aberdeen last weekend and hopefully we can put it to bed now and concentrate on what is a huge few weeks.

Alan Archibald and I were delighted with the result but really pleased with the performance on the day, I thought we were excellent.

There was a lot of talk in the press about the home form, but it wasn't something we mentioned a lot to be honest.

We did talk about it before games but, during the week, we didn't touch on it.

When you go so long without winning a home game, of course there is going to be a lot written about it and people will talk about it. I know it was as frustrating for the fans as it was for the staff and the players that the run went on for so long.

They have come along in numbers and watched us play some good stuff at Firhill, dominating a number of games against good sides without being able to get that win.

It has been a frustrating season for the supporters so I am delighted we could give them something to shout about at the weekend.

I am sure they would have been happy with the performance.

After getting that win against Aberdeen, we head up to Ross County this weekend aiming for our third win from three trips to the Highlands this season.

It is one we are looking forward to and the boys are going into it with a lot of confidence and looking to keep moving up the Premiership table.

I was with Alan at the Highland derby on Tuesday night and we know it will be a tough game this weekend - County are still fighting for their lives as well.

Derek Adams brought in a lot of players during the January window and County are a different proposition to the one we beat in August.

They are more physical up front, but we are focusing on ourselves. It would be great to get back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

There are only a few games to go until the split and it is important we get as many points as we can before then.

In the final five games, we will play all the teams round about us in the table and we want to keep building not just on Saturday's result but some of the performances lately. The boys have been normal this week, although it is only natural that everyone is happier after you get a win on a Saturday.

The lads are enjoying their football and there has been a buzz about training all season.

The belief is there we can stay in this league. and now we need to complete the job.
