I'M SURE Gordon Strachan will use Scotland's friendly with Poland on Wednesday night to experiment a bit and look at a few players ahead of the European Championship qualifiers starting later this year.

One of the big selection dilemmas he will have is in midfield, where he has a lot of really good players and options.

Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew have really caught the eye when they have played together in the middle of the park for Scotland but the return of Darren Fletcher to the squad gives Gordon a welcome problem to ponder over.

It will be interesting to see if Scott, Charlie and Darren all play at the same time and if Gordon has a way of utilising all three of them.

They all have different attributes and while it may look like it is a matter of picking two from the three, Gordon might have a plan in mind.

Charlie can play wide on the left as well as playing in central midfield and we have seen Scott playing on the right for both Scotland and Celtic.

You don't have to play them in the middle of the park. They are both versatile players and will do a job for the team no matter where you play them.

Gordon may adapt to play them all at the same time or he might just pick two: we will have to wait and see.

The good thing about having friendly matches is you have a chance to mix things up a bit and try some things out.

But Gordon will still want to win in Warsaw.
