START HIM says RONNIE CULLY:

THE Finn looks like a fish out of water when thrown in near the end of games.

His body language tells you any semblance of confidence has now been drained from him.

Each missed opportunity - as happened twice within minutes of his arrival as a substitute at the weekend - appears to be met with such a lack of self-belief that you get the impression he wishes he was anywhere other than facing a goalkeeper.

The easy option would be for Celtic to cut their losses and try to punt him.

But, on the form shown over the past seven months, who is going to pay the Hoops the £2.5million - plus significant wages - they have invested in Pukki?

The better option, therefore, must be to do everything possible to help him rediscover his form.

The only way that is going to happen is by playing him from the start.

LET HIM MOVE ON says MICHAEL GRANT:

IT simply hasn't happened for Teemu Pukki at Celtic and there just hasn't been enough evidence to suggest things will turn.

As a late substitute against St Mirren he might have buried two chances. He missed them both. There isn't anger towards the Finn from the Celtic support, only sighs and quiet resignation.

He has scored only five times in 28 appearances and the rest of his game has lacked impact, too.

St Mirren used Gregg Wylde on Saturday - a player Aberdeen signed in June and moved on in January when it was clear he wasn't fitting in. Pukki is getting towards that point with Celtic.

Selling in the summer would recoup some of the £2.5million they spent on him, which could better be used to strengthen the squad.

And it would allow Pukki to rebuild his game and his confidence elsewhere. He hasn't been the player for Celtic he was for Schalke.
