IT is a big night for Celtic at Firhill as they close in on the Premiership title.

But it is a massive 90 minutes for everyone at Partick Thistle as well - and that is our focus this evening.

We were all really disappointed to come back down the road from Inverness on Saturday with no points and it is great to have a game like this just a few days later to try and get back on track.

We were really frustrated at the weekend because it was an opportunity missed and a game we felt we should have taken the three points from. In fact, the game was ours to win.

But it has gone, we have drawn a line under it, and we are geared up to face Celtic now.

We have lost both our previous meetings with them so far this season, but we can head into the game tonight with a bit of confidence knowing we have given a good account of ourselves.

There is really no pressure on us. It is all on Celtic.

Neil Lennon and his players have that pressure on them in every game they go into, they are expected to win and have to win all the time.

Our boys have just got to go out and compete, and hopefully we can play our usual passing game and cause Celtic problems.

We played well against them in the last game at Parkhead and there is no reason why we can't do the same again tonight and take something from the 90 minutes.

It is a game we are not expected to win, but it is one that we want to win and it would be a great achievement for the players if they can get a result against the team which will win the title this season.

The three points mean as much to us as they do to Celtic as we are fighting for our lives in the bottom six and we need every point we can get as we look to avoid the relegation play-off place this season.

A positive result would give the boys another boost heading into Saturday's game at St Johnstone.

Everyone is looking forward to it and rightly so. These are the type of games that everyone wants to play in.

You want to test yourself against the best team and the best players in the country and we have given a good account of ourselves in the two previous games. We have shown that we can perform against good sides.

It is certainly a great occasion for the players and it is one I enjoyed when I played because you want to show what you can do in the big games.

I am sure they will thrive on it tonight and hopefully we can cause an upset, and also prove a few people wrong by getting a big result for us and our fans.
