ANTHONY STOKES hopes Neil Lennon is at Celtic for the long haul after guiding the Hoops to three-in-a-row.

The Parkhead side clinched a hat-trick of titles with a superb 5-1 win over Partick Thistle on Wednesday night to wrap up their league crown in style as they have left the rest of the Premiership trailing in their wake this term.

Lennon has been linked with a number of clubs south of the border and is likely to leave Glasgow in search of a fresh challenge at some point in his managerial career.

But striker Stokes is eager to see his boss stay put after adding more silverware to his impressive Parkhead haul.

The Irishman said: "He has been outstanding. He has built his own squad here and you can't praise him highly enough.

"He has had enough to deal with up here as well. With that in the background as well, it's been phenomenal what he's done.

"I'm sure everyone at the club including myself is just hoping he stays here as long as possible."

It is no surprise that Celtic have romped to Premiership success this season but the manner of their title triumph has been impressive as they have raced clear of the chasing pack.

Lennon's side have won 19 of their last 20 top flight fixtures and suffered their only league defeat of the campaign at Aberdeen last month.

The Hoops are 26 points clear of the much-lauded Dons and Stokes has hailed the champions' relentless run of results.

He said: "Last year we dropped a lot of points and were nowhere near as consistent.

"This year it has just clicked. There have been a couple of players come in and improved the squad.

"It's a very young squad and a lot of the players are developing and improving. Hopefully that's the case over the coming years.

"It's a bit of pride as well. You want to go out and perform in every game. You don't want to be sloppy and drop points.

"The fans pay good money to come and see us play and we need to put on a show for them."
