LEE McCULLOCH has no fears Rangers will switch off against Arbroath at Gayfield today ahead of their mouthwatering cup double header.

Because the Light Blues skipper reckons his team- mates will be desperate to show manager Ally McCoist they deserve a start.

The Ibrox club play in the eagerly-anticipated Ramsdens Cup final against Raith Rovers at Easter Road a week tomorrow.

And six days later they square up to SPFL Premiership high-flyers Dundee United in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at Ibrox.

Every Rangers fan is looking forward to the matches - and the likes of Fraser Aird, Cammy Bell, Jon Daly and Bilel Mohnsi are no different.

And Jig reckons that, despite sewing up the League One title this month, his side will be desperate to defeat the Red Lichties this afternoon.

He said: "The gaffer hasn't picked his team for the cup final yet.

"Anyone who comes in has a chance to play with Rangers in a cup final whether that's starting or getting on the bench.

"I don't think his mind will be made up yet with what team he's going to go with.

"It's great if you get a chance to play against Arbroath that you might play your way into the team.

"The game against Arbroath is one we will be looking to win.

"It's definitely not a gimme as they are a good team with some good players. But it is a chance for players to get a cup final jersey."

McCulloch was speaking at Murray Park as he helped to launch the Rangers Player of the Year Awards at the Hilton Glasgow on Sunday, May 4.

Jig revealed who would get his backing to be named Player of the Year.

He said: "For me, the one that should and will win it is Lee Wallace.

"The way he's defended this year and the assists he's got have been impressive. Sometimes he's been more of an attacking threat."
