BERAM KAYAL has given the biggest hint yet that he sees a future for himself at Parkhead.

The Celtic midfielder appeared to be heading for the exit door when he told an Israeli newspaper he had fallen out of love with the game in this country.

He is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Hoops.

And, after dropping down the pecking order among the midfielders now available to Neil Lennon - Stefan Johansen and Nir Biton have leapfrogged him in recent months as he has fought back from a broken bone in his foot - the 25-year-old looked destined to move out.

However, having regained his starting place, Kayal is sounding much more upbeat and is even looking towards next season.

He said: "Four years is a long time, but I am still very happy here at a big club like Celtic.

"To be here for four years at a massive club makes me very proud.

"There is a different side of football here. Scottish football is different.

"But, I am so happy to be here and be part of a successful side, winning the league, being in the Champions League and winning cups, so it feels like you are achieving something in your career."

Kayal is every bit as happy off the park, and is completely settled in Glasgow with his wife, Angela.

He said: "I got married two years ago, and I'm so happy with my family.

"I have a great life outside of football and, hopefully, it stays like that as I'm enjoying every day here at Celtic.

"The Scottish people are so friendly and always like to help you, so I'm happy to be here."

Kayal - who has expressed ambitions to play in the Barclays Premier League - appears to have realised the grass is not always greener on the other side.

And he now fully appreciates the opportunities that come with being at a club like Celtic.

"Being in the last 16 of the Champions League was massive for us," he told the Celtic View.

"It was a dream for everyone here. When I was younger, I remember saying how I wanted to get into the last 16.

"I did get to play in the Champions League with Maccabi Haifa, but to play in the last 16 with Celtic was something special."

Kayal is targeting another glory run in Europe next season.

And, even though it was in a group stage tie against AC Milan that he sustained the foot injury which kept him out for four months, he can't wait to take on Europe's elite once again.

He said: "Scoring the winner against Ajax gave me a good feeling. I want to prove myself for the gaffer and make the supporters proud."
