WE have a few young players out on loan at the moment and it is proving to be a worthwhile experience for them.

Liam Lindsay and Darren Brownlie joined Alloa and Cowdenbeath respectively a few months ago and we have had positive reports about them in the Championship.

It will stand them in good stead and will prove to be a good experience for them playing in competitive games at a good level.

They are still young but they will learn quickly from playing first-team football.

Another player we have out on loan is Chris Duggan. He signed for Forfar a couple of weeks ago and scored in their League One match with East Fife and played at Ibrox against Rangers on Tuesday night.

I know a lot of fans have been talking about Chris after a great start to the season.

He scored a lot of goals for the Under-20s but then picked up a hamstring injury and ended up out of action for a while.

If it wasn't for that injury, he might have been out on loan earlier, or have had a chance with the first team.

His time with Forfar will be beneficial for him this year and hopefully for Thistle in the long-term.

Chris certainly knows where the goal is, he is always in the right place at the right time, so hopefully he can get himself a couple more at Forfar before the end of the season.
