DEADLY hitman Dean Shiels has fixed his sights on helping Rangers win their last three SPFL League One games to finish the season undefeated.

Shiels was on target for the second time in five days when he netted in the 4-0 win over Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Saturday.

The victory over the Warriors was meaningless as the Gers wrapped up the third tier title weeks ago.

But the forward is determined to give supporters something to cheer about in their final fixtures. He said: "It is easy to slacken off because we are so far clear and the league is already won. We don't want to do that though.

"We want to be professional and give the fans who come and watch us something to cheer about. We'll try to do that until the end of the season."

Rangers take on Ayr at Ibrox tomorrow night and Stranraer at home on Saturday when they will be presented with the SPFL League One trophy.

Ally McCoist's side will then bring the curtain down on the 2013/14 campaign when they take on Dunfermline at East End Park on Saturday week.

Northern Ireland international Shiels also wants Rangers to complete the third tier league campaign without losing a single game.

Speaking to the official Rangers website, he added: "Staying unbeaten to the end is something we're trying not to talk about too much, but the closer it comes the more realistic it gets.

"It would be simply phenomenal. I feel as if I am finishing the season strongly. I am enjoying my football and hopefully I have something to offer in the last three games."

Assistant mmanager Kenny McDowall is delighted at Shiels' resurgent form.

McDowall believes the 4-2-3-1 set-up against Stenhousemuir suited Shiels' style of play and the travelling fans were rewarded with a clinical finish.

McDowall said: "Deano is a clever player, he's got a good football brain. We're delighted for him.

"We changed the formation a wee bit and after the first 15 minutes they settled down into it.

"They didn't have too many chances on goal so it was comfortable."
