STEVIE SMITH has paid tribute to Rangers legend Sandy Jardine following his death last week.

The gates of Ibrox have been turned into a shrine by the Light Blue legions as they have remembered one of the most decorated and revered players in the club's history.

Boss Ally McCoist dedicated the Gers' League One title success to Jardine last week and Smith said: "The manager said it best. When somebody has had the career he's had, for people to be talking about him as a man said everything, really.

"When somebody has had a career like that, it's very easy to talk about the games he's played, medals he's won and goals he's scored, the World Cups and stuff.

"To hear so many people talking about him as a man said everything."
