LEADING Rangers marksman Jon Daly has vowed to bang in even more goals for the Ibrox club in the SPFL Championship next season.

Daly has topped the scoring charts at the Gers in his first season at the Glasgow giants after netting 25 times in all competitions.

Light Blues captain Lee McCulloch, who took the team's penalties, was nearest to him with 17 in the league, 18 to his name in all.

But the Irishman did not finish the 2013/14 campaign as the third tier's top scorer; Michael Moffat of Ayr United bagged 27 in total this term.

And the 31-year-old has set himself an ambitious target of increasing his personal haul against full-time rivals in the Championship next season.

He said: "I would have liked to have got a few more, but 25 is not a bad return for the season and hopefully I can go again next year and get a few more."

Meanwhile, Daly has insisted the Rangers players should be proud of going the League One season unbeaten - despite playing against part-time teams.

He said: "It has been tough with the league wrapped up so long ago, it has been tough to keep going and try and keep the undefeated record going.

"But we have managed to do that and it is a great achievement in itself. It is one that we are proud of.

"The manager said in the dressing room after the game on Saturday that we will probably not realise what we have done until a few years down the line. I think he is right.

"I wouldn't say it has been the most physically demanding season for me. You look forward to your break every season."
