EFE AMBROSE has set his sights on a treble next season to hammer home Celtic's domestic dominance.

The SPFL Premiership champions extended their lead at the top of the table with a 5-2 triumph over second-placed Aberdeen and are now 30 points clear of Derek McInnes' side as they get nearer to the 100-point mark.

Kris Commons and Scott Brown netted doubles against the Dons and Anthony Stokes grabbed his 20th goal of the season as the Hoops turned on the style at Parkhead.

Commons has yet to agree a new deal to extend his stay at the club, but Ambrose believes this current crop can write their name in the history books with a clean sweep of silverware next term.

He said: "If we can keep this group of players, not only Kris Commons, I believe we are going to achieve great things.

"We can achieve the treble and to do better in the Champions League than what we did last year and this season and I think we have the calibre of player to do that. So this is our target.

"Last season we won the double and this year we've got just one.

"So I think the treble is what is left for us to achieve and that is the motivation for us next season."

Despite having the title wrapped up several weeks ago, Celtic have shown no sign of taking their foot off the gas as they have powered towards a century of points and get set to lift their third successive title at Parkhead next weekend.

Neil Lennon's side have eased their way to the Premiership crown with a relentless run of form to leave the rest of the top flight trailing.

And Ambrose is confident it will be the same story next season as a host of teams battle it out to be best of the rest.

He said: "Well, last year it was Motherwell, this year it is Aberdeen, we never know how it is going to be, but I think the league is getting better and teams are trying to compete with Celtic.

"So the more they try to compete, the more we will try to step up.

"The more they give us a challenge, the more we will become a better team, better players as well because we know there will be a challenge in the league.

"The more you want to achieve and to keep winning you have to do the right things and you have to have the winning mentality.

"You have to have the right players and the manager and everyone needs to be together.

"For now I don't know but if we get things right I don't think anyone can get close to Celtic."
