CELTIC'S possible Under-20s league clincher against Dundee United at Tannadice has been put back 24 hours.

The game which would seal the title at this level for the fifth time in a row by the Bhoys now goes ahead at Tannadice tomorrow at 1pm.

The young Hoops' 2-0 win over their Ibrox counterparts at Lennoxtown on Tuesday means the ball is now in Celtic's court and a win on Tayside will tie up the championship.

Coach Stevie Frail hailed his side's bravery on the ball as they kept the title challenge alive.

Their patient, passing football eventually broke the Ibrox side's resistance twice in the second half.

"That's the most pleasing thing about it," said Frail. "When you are looking at the way the Celtic boys played, the way they dominated the game and took the ball in tight areas at times and made things happen.

"At times in the first half, they tried to force little passes but I think that was just them being anxious and nervy because of how much was riding on the game.

"I think Rangers came with a plan to try and sit in and maybe sneak a goal on the break with the pace they have up front. But we kept going, showed the character, were brave to take the ball and it was a fantastic result."

"It feels really nice and is a good feeling, especially with the significance and importance of the game," he continued. "Rangers could have clinched the league title with even a point and we had to make sure we avoided that and by doing that now we have the chance to claim the title tomorrow against Dundee United."

Denny Johnstone and John Herron bagged the Bhoys' goals within the space of seven minutes to give them a two-goal cushion which they were determined to keep intact.

"We were hoping the first goal was coming and we were getting a bit of success down the left-hand side in the second half," said Frail.

"We worked it really well and there was great cross with great pace and shape and Denny looked as though he pulled off the centre-back, he rose high and it was great header.

"The second goal was a good passing movem and last week John had a similar chance against St Mirren and this time he put it away, so we are really delighted for him."

Frail and John Kennedy's young guns now require one final effort to seal the prize in the clash away to Dundee United. And the coaching staff are under no illusions of how tough a test awaits them at Tannadice.

"It's great I'm sitting here talking about it as you are thinking back before the St Mirren game last week and we knew what we had to do to - three wins gives us the league," said Frail.

"One goes, we then take care of Rangers and we never thought about Dundee United until the final whistle.

"We are looking forward to it, but Dundee United have really good young players and we know how difficult it will be."
