LIAM HENDERSON wants to double up in style today.

The 18-year-old midfielder has already realised a dream by scoring in Celtic's Premiership title-winning victory over Partick Thistle and will be on the pitch at Parkhead on Sunday when the trophy is presented.

But Henderson aims to make it an even more special weekend by helping the Hoops' youth team clinch their league championship when they play Dundee United this afternoon.

Victory would make it a fifth title in a row for the young Celts. But Henderson knows the real measure of the success of this side is how many players it can produce for the first team.

Along with Darnell Fisher, Eoghan O'Connell and John Herron, Henderson has made that jump this season, and even collected the award for top Academy player.

Henderson remains close to his contemporaries and explained: "The day before the Under-20s games, we all train together.

"So, I know the boys well because I have grown up with them all here at the club.

"This is a massive game for us all, and it's all we have been focusing on."

His focus will return to the first team on Sunday when he climbs the podium to take his turn at hoisting the Premiership trophy following the match against United at Parkhead.

League rules state players must appear in at least 10 matches to qualify for a medal. He has played eight so far, but clubs can purchase extra gongs.

"I scored in the game when we clinched the title, but the work was done months before I came into the side," he said modestly.
