THE rift between a section of the Rangers support and the Ibrox board appears greater than ever.

The Union of Fans this week launched Ibrox 1972 Ltd - the company which Dave King has set up that season ticket holders can withhold their money in.

But the board then came out once again and said that, under no circumstances, will they grant security over the stadium to anyone.

I am afraid that I feel this sort of split can only lead to bad things for the club in the future.

A large number of Rangers fans are backing Dave, as is nine-in-a-row captain Richard Gough. That is fine.

There is no way I would ever tell supporters what to do or not to do.

I have said for a long time now that I would like to see Dave back involved. Rangers desperately need investment and he can provide it.

So much has gone on between Dave and the present board and I think it will be very difficult for him to work with them.

He has said he is prepared to invest between £30million and £50million to help his boyhood heroes get back to where they were.

But so far it has all been talk. He is not even a shareholder.

So I would like to see Dave come out and say exactly what his future plans for Rangers are.
