GORDON DURIE has gone for a mix of youth and experience in Rangers 10-man squad for the prestigious Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament.

The Light Blues Under-20s coach has selected eight of the players who won the Scottish Youth Cup earlier this month.

Teenagers Barrie McKay, Jamie Burrows, Craig Halkett, Darren Ramsay, Dylan Dykes, Calum Gallagher, Andy Murdoch and Kristian Gibson are joined by 21-year-old defender Kyle McAusland and veteran goalkeeper Steve Simonsen in the squad for this weekend's event.

Rangers are in a group containing Manchester City and will be hoping for a repeat of last year's result when they beat the newly-crowned Barclays Premier League Champions 3-1 with goals from Robbie Crawford, Andy Murdoch and Charlie Telfer.

The group also features Singapore Cricket Club and BC Rangers.

The Light Blues were runners-up in the Hong Kong tournament in 2009 - when they lost 1-0 to rivals Celtic - and 2010.

In the Masters event, a Rangers Legends team will defend the title they won last year when they beat Ajax.

The Light Blues also won the seniors tournament in 2008

Led by John Brown, the team consists of former Rangers greats Durie, Andy Goram, Scott Nisbet, Marvin Andrews, Alex Rae, Dale Gordon, Charlie Miller, Pieter Huistra, Ian Ferguson, Michael Mols.

In the group stage they will play a Wallsend Boys Club select that includes former Celtic and Aston Villa midfielder Alan Thompson, England international Peter Beardsley and Michael Bridges, the ex-Sunderland and Leeds United forward.
