PARTICK THISTLE have cancelled plans to move the Jags 'singing section' from the North Stand next season after a meeting with supporters last week.
The Firhill hierarchy had hoped to implement a change in the seating plan of the stadium that would have seen away fans housed behind the goal and the Thistle supporters switched to a section in the main stand.
The proposal was met with a backlash by furious fans and talks between representatives of various supporter organisations and the club, including chairman David Beattie and managing director Ian Maxwell, have seen the plans shelved.
A Thistle statement said: "The meeting was held following a large volume of negative feedback to the club's decision to move the 'singing section' of home support into the main stand.
"It was widely accepted by the club that it, not only underestimated the strength of feeling towards the North Stand, but had also not gone about communicating the decision in the right manner.
"During the course of the discussion it became clear that the supporters' preferred option in terms of seating plans would be to keep the stadium layout the same, with the North Stand remaining for home support.
"The supporters considered this the best option even if it meant fans being required to move for games, against Celtic next season and, potentially, Rangers in seasons thereafter."
