AARON TAYLOR-SINCLAIR is confident he can take his career to the next level after clinching a move to English Championship side Wigan Athletic.

The former Partick Thistle star has agreed a three-year deal with the Latics just weeks after leaving Firhill at the end of his contract.

He was an integral part of the Jags side that won the First Division title and retained their place in the Premiership.

Taylor-Sinclair said: "I can't thank everyone at Partick Thistle enough for the help and support they've given me and I'm leaving some great friends behind, and also a superb set of supporters I'll never forget.

"But when the opportunity to come to Wigan came up, I was very interested, and I feel this is the next step in my career.

"I want to meet up with everyone now, get working and prove to the gaffer that he has made a good choice."

The loss of Taylor-Sinclair is a huge blow to Thistle as boss Alan Archibald looks to find a replacement during the close season.

But DW Stadium gaffer Uwe Rosler is delighted to land his man after also snapping up fellow full-back Andrew Taylor this week.

Rosler said: "Aaron fits exactly with the type of player we are looking to bring to the club.

"He has been a key player for Partick Thistle for a couple of seasons now and he has been on our radar for some time."

Elsewhere, Motherwell midfield starlet Jack Leitch has penned a two-year extension at Fir Park.

He said: "I've grown up supporting Motherwell and it's a dream to play for the club."
