FORMER Celtic striker Georgios Samaras has been linked with a move to Everton this summer.
The Greek star fired his country into the last 16 of the World Cup on Tuesday night as he netted a last-minute penalty to clinch a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast.
It was the highlight of a mixed campaign for the 29-year-old, who fell down the pecking order under Neil Lennon after he failed to sign a new deal at Celtic Park.
Samaras is currently without a club after leaving Parkhead at the end of his contract and has attracted interest from across Europe in recent months.
And Toffees boss Roberto Martinez has become the latest boss to be linked with the striker.
The Premiership side have lost Romelu Lukaku after he returned to parent club Chelsea and Samaras would represent a cheap deal for Martinez.
