RANGERS legend Michael Mols has given his backing to the Sons of Struth as they get set to turn up the heat on the Light Blues board once again.

The group have organised a march to Ibrox on Saturday, July 19, with thousands of fans set to take part as pressure continues to mount on the under-fire Gers hierarchy.

Mols could yet make the trip to Glasgow to join the Light Blue legions, and the former Gers strike star said: "Ibrox is our history, Ibrox is our present. March to Ibrox on July 19 to protect Ibrox for our future."

The Union of Fans last week announced the closure of the Ibrox 1972 trust fund after the board failed to grant security over Ibrox and Murray Park, and again urged supporters not to hand over season ticket cash this summer.

Tensions between the boardroom and terraces are still at an all-time high, with tens of thousands of punters refusing to renew their season books in protest at the board.

SoS chief Craig Houston told SportTimes: "This march isn't just for supporters of the Sons of Struth, it is for any Rangers fan who believes in safeguarding Ibrox for us and future generations.

"To have an endorsement from Michael Mols is terrific and I have been heartened by the support.

"We will have our own banners on the day, but I would encourage supporters' clubs to bring their own and show that this issue is important to the wider fanbase.

"The Hong Kong RSC are sending their banner across and I would hope as many fans as possible can join us in marching to Ibrox."
