Partick Thistle have shown their support for a leading breast cancer charity by going pink for the new season's away kit.

The Firhill club have teamed up with Breast Cancer Care Scotland as part of a new kit deal.

The deal sees £3 from every one of the new away strips that are sold, donated to the charity.

The new deal follows a scheme that saw the Scottish Premiership club raise funds by branding the headrests in their new dugouts with the Breast Cancer Care Scotland logo. Each seat was then offered for sponsorship by individuals or companies.

This time around the donation comes from three individual £1 contributions from the club itself, Spanish kit manufacturer, Joma and Glasgow-based distributor, Total Teamware Ltd (TTL).

Ian Maxwell, Partick Thistle's Managing Director, said on the club's official website, "We already have a close partnership with Breast Cancer Care Scotland and the link up with the dugout seats has worked really well. It's a fantastic charity and one that deals with a subject which affects so many families across Scotland. I know many people that are associated with the Club have had their lives touched by breast cancer so it's an ideal charity for us to get involved with.

"In modern football it's easy to get carried away with the importance of what is happening on the pitch. However, when you see the work Breast Cancer Care Scotland does, and the practical support it provides for those directly and indirectly affected by breast cancer, it really puts things into perspective. It's a cause we as a club are proud to be associated with and a partnership I hope lasts for the foreseeable future."
