ALLY has done a lot of good business so far this summer and does have a big squad at his disposal now.

So far, Steve Simonsen, Darren McGregor, Marius Zaliukas, Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller have come in and there is certainly a lot of depth and quality in the first-team pool.

I know a lot of fans have been questioning the need for Rangers to have as many players, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more move on this summer.

The one thing that Ally does have is plenty of competition for places at the moment.

In goal, Simonsen has come back in to provide back-up to Cammy Bell and Scott Gallacher has moved on.

Scott has obviously been told that he had no future at the club and has been allowed to leave so hopefully he gets something sorted and finds himself a new club soon.

At centre-back, as well as Lee McCulloch and Bilel Mohsni, he has summer signings Zaliukas and McGregor, Sebastien Faure and youngsters Luca Gasparotto and Craig Halkett.

Arnold Peralta hasn't featured so far in pre-season and we may well have seen the last of him in a Rangers shirt.

He said he was keen to move on last season and I don't think Rangers would stand in his way if they can get a couple of quid for him this summer.

When you factor in that Chris Hegarty, Emilson Cribari, Ross Perry and Andy Little have also left Ibrox, there has been another big turnover of players.

There could be a few more that leave before the season starts, though, as Ally gets a squad, both in terms of numbers and quality, for the Championship next year.
