YOU might say that things would have been different if the Champions League qualifier tie had been played at Celtic Park rather than Murrayfield, but that wasn't brought up in the last round against KR Reykavik, even though the opposition was of a different level.

The fans at Celtic Park can make a difference, but I don't think that accounts for the level of performance.

At the end of the day, the team weren't good enough in either leg and Legia deserved to go through.

Not playing the second leg at Murrayfield is an excuse and one that isn't acceptable.

Some people have criticised Celtic for agreeing to play their part in the Commonwealth Games this summer, but they were asked to host the opening ceremony of and did so for the good of Glasgow and the Games.

People are questioning them for doing it, but I don't they were left with an option. Yes, they might have gained from it financially, but I don't think that was their thinking.

I think they felt obliged to offer Celtic Park for the sake of the Games and people are wrong to question them for that decision.

The team may have suffered by not playing at Celtic Park, but I don't think that is an excuse that the players can use for their performances. And no one should need to tell them that.
