MARIBOR warmed up for their Champions League clash with Celtic by keping their 100 per cent league record as Brazilian skipper Marcos Tavares marked his 300th game for the club with a goal.

Celtic will take on the Slovenian champions for a place in the group stages after their shock resurrection in European football's top competition.

They face a team in fine form after defeating Gorica 2-1 to make it three league wins out of three.

And manager Ante Simundza was delighted with the win ahead of this month's tie with the Hoops.

He said: "We have to be satisfied with the way we are playing. Every game we win should be viewed as a success.

"We respect Celtic and we know we will be in for a tough battle. But we should be going into the matches full of confidence."

Damjan Bohar added to Tavares' strike. Maribor play twice more before they play Celtic in the first leg in Slovenia.
