I was surprised that Gary Fraser was not named in the Scotland Under-21 squad for the European qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.
Gary has had a great start to the season for us and is a young midfielder we rate really highly.
Already he has scored two goals in the league, one of them a stunner to earn us a point at Dundee.
The players see how valuable he is to the team, as do the fans. It is terrific for a player who has only just turned 20 to play the way he does and control games the way he does.
Gary is great to watch when he is on song - and right now he is at the top of his game. He and Stuart Bannigan controlled a lot of matches last season and the two of them can only get better.
I don't know if Gary was looking for a call-up but if he continues to play like he is doing then I am sure that will come.
He has all the attributes and attitude to go really far in the game.
