PARTICK THISTLE have completed the signing of forward David Amoo, subject to international clearance.

The former Liverpool kid is the second arrival of the summer at Firhill after boss Alan Archibald clinched a move for keeper Tomas Cerny last month.

Amoo was on the books of Carlisle United last season and scored five goals in 28 appearances for the Cumbrians.

The 24-year-old moved to Anfield from Millwall in 2007 and made his Reds debut in a Europa League qualifying clash with Rabotnicki Skopje as David N’gog scored twice for Roy Hodgson’s side.

After loan spells at MK Dons, Hull and Bury, Amoo spent a season at Preston North End and twelve months at Tranmere Rovers before joining Carlisle in 2013.

He has now clinched a move to Firhill and will look to play a starring role for Thistle in their third Premiership campaign after agreeing a one-year deal.

Boss Archibald has lost a number of key players from his squad in recent weeks after Scott Fox and Stephen O’Donnell joined Ross County and Luton Town respectively, while Kallum Higginbotham has moved to Kilmarnock.

Defender Conrad Balatoni has left the club after turning down a new deal while on loan striker Lyle Taylor has returned to Scunthorpe for pre-season training.

Thistle will return to action this weekend when they face East Stirlingshire in Grangemouth as Archibald continues his preparations for the big kick-off.

The Jags will also face Eastleigh in London and Wigan and Rotherham at Firhill this month before the Premiership opener away to Hamilton Accies on August 1.
