BARRY FERGUSON is determined to get his Clyde players fit for purpose ahead of the new campaign.
The Bully Wee have now been back in training for two weeks as they attempt to get back into shape ahead of their season-opener against Livingston on July 25 in the Petrofac Training Cup.
Despite a 3-1 closed-doors defeat to Queen of the South on Saturday, Ferguson believes his squad is moving in the right direction.
The Broadwood boss said: "The first two or three matches are really just about fitness and that was the main aim for Saturday's match, but the boys did really well.
"In general, we're still mostly in the mindset of fitness at the moment and we're getting closer to where we want to be with that.
“That'll be the focus for another week or 10 days and then we'll start to spend more time on formations and the shape of the team.”
