HIBERNIAN are close to completing the transfer of former St Mirren midfielder John McGinn.
The Easter Road side have agreed a training compensation fee for the 20-year-old, who left Saints under freedom of contract at the end of the season, and are in the process of putting him through a medical.
The Scotland Under-21 captain travelled to America earlier this month to stage talks with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo, but saw his chances of moving adversely affected by red tape.
McGinn is considering legal action against St Mirren after he was spiked in the thigh by a pole thrown by his former team-mate Steven Thompson, but he is back fit and ready to resume his career at Easter Road.
