SCOTT BOOTH takes charge of Glasgow City for the second time tomorrow as his SWPL leaders travel to Edinburgh to take on Spartans at Ainslie Park.

After getting off to a flyer in last week’s 3-0 win over Celtic, Booth will be determined his team keep their momentum at the top of the table with Hibs breathing down their neck in second place.

With the two sides separated by goal difference only, there is no margin for error in the most exciting title title race in years.

Spartans will be full of confidence after defeating Rangers 5-4 in a thrilling encounter last week and will look to in-form striker Sarah Ewens to lead the line.

A hat-trick against Rangers has earned the Spartans forward a call up to the Scotland A squad training camp next week and she will be determined to show national boss Anna Signeul that she has what it takes to cause the champions problems.

With the games coming thick and fast, Booth has had little time to settle in his first two weeks in the job, but has made a firm impression on City, according to club manager, Laura Montgomery.

She said: “Scott has fitted in extremely well and the players love working with him. He has brought a great freshness to the environment and a real team spirit, along with a few slightly different ways of working.

"On a personal level, I have been delighted at how quickly he has immersed himself in the job and how quickly he has got up to speed on all of our players and our opposition, along with the Institute of Sport and the National Performance Centre which a number of our players attend.

"He has a great attention to detail and is very professional in his approach, which bodes extremely well with how we operate at Glasgow City.

"So far, we couldn’t have asked for a better start to his career at City and, hopefully, tomorrow, we can keep things going with three points against a really tough and talented Spartans team.”

The kick-off at Aiisnlie Park is 1pm.

Hibs, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain the pressure on City when they meet Celtic at K-Park, East Kilbride (2pm).

Rangers will attempt to bounce back from their defeat by Spartans when they go north to meet Aberdeen at Sunybank Juniors (2pm).
