MARK WARBURTON admits the views of Greatest Ever Ranger John Greig have been invaluable on his Ibrox learning curve.
The new Light Blues boss has spent time with Greig in the aftermath of the recent matches against Burnley and Hibernian as he has begun his career at the club in impressive fashion.
Warburton got his reign as manager off to a flying start as his side beat Hibs 6-2 in the Petrofac Training Cup first round on Saturday.
And the former Brentford boss is keen to gather as much feedback as possible from people in and around Ibrox.
Warburton said: “I’d never met John Greig before he came to the Burnley game. It was a pleasure to meet him and spend five minutes talking to him.
“It was fantastic to hear his thoughts and he gives such an insight into how he’s seen it over the last few years.
“And again, after Saturday it was great to chat to him and get his feedback. He was genuinely pleased as a Rangers fan and as the professional he is.
“I’m an outsider coming in, so it’s important for me. I need to know what their mindset is.
“It doesn’t impact upon us because we do what we want to do, but it’s good to get good feedback and the knowledge they have, we have to use it. Absolutely.”
