THE Premier League Fours at Peterborough yesterday was abandoned after a horrific crash involving Newcastle’s Lewis Kerr in the latter stages of the meeting.
Glasgow failed to qualify for the finals of the event after scoring only six points, but the thoughts of everyone in the speedway world immediately turned to Kerr after the incident in heat three of the second half.
He was airlifted to hospital after receiving lengthy treatment at the track and was, at the time of going to press, in an induced coma.
A Tigers spokesman said: "All of our thoughts and best wishes are with Lewis at this time."
Glasgow now face Plymouth at home in the Premier League tomorrow at 7.30pm.
Peterborough's Ulrich Ostergaard is guesting at No.1 for the Tigers for the injured Nick Morris, while the event will see the much-anticipated debuts of new signings Kauko Nieminen and Hynek Stichauer.
The Tigers' 2014 captain Theo Pijper will race at No.1 for the visitors, who also feature former Edinburgh star Ryan Fisher.
