PEDRO RODRIGUEZ is expected to leave Barcelona for Manchester United within the week following the start of official negotiations between the clubs.
Reports in Spain state that there is a difference of opinion over the fee, but wide expectation that a deal can be done. United are understood to have offered 27million euros for the 28-year-old attacker with Barcelona holding out for something in the region of 30m euros.
Italian club AS Roma play Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday in the annual Juan Gamper trophy match and there is a feeling that could be Pedro's farewell match after 11 years at the La Liga champions.
United manager Louis van Gaal has made it clear that he wants Pedro to be available for the club's Champions League qualifying play-off matches later this month.
