MARK WARBURTON admits he has been blown away by the passion of Rangers fans as he prepares for another sell out at Ibrox on Sunday.

A capacity crowd saw Warburton’s side kick-off their Championship campaign against St Mirren earlier this month and the Gers have again sold out their tickets for the visit of Hibernian.

The Light Blue legions have been impressed with the progress Rangers have made under Warburton and assistant David Weir in the opening weeks of their reign.

And the former Brentford boss is thriving under the spotlight and life in the Glasgow goldfish bowl.

Warburton said: “For the first time in nine weeks we took time off [on Thursday], and were invited to play Loch Lomond. It was stunning.

“And it was dry. Which was the biggest plus. We had all the waterproofs and umbrellas with us just in case.

“Joking apart, everyone you meet, the passion for the club is quite incredible.

“The feedback has been really positive, they are enjoying their football.

“I am a Tottenham fan, and Tottenham-Arsenal derbies are passionate, North London derbies, a couple of miles apart, but the level of intensity here is ratcheted up again.

“You talk to fans and they reel off names from 1964 and 1973, and the cup final and all this, they are so involved with their club, it is great to see. We have to recognise that and respond to that.

“It is times by ten [compared to Brentford]. Brentford have some really passionate, knowledgeable fans as all the clubs do but it is just the size of it here.

“It seems to be 24/7, there is no switching off. That is what it is.

“At the golf club, a guy will come up, a passionate Rangers fan and someone from the other side, and they are all having a laugh.

“They are all having a laugh. It is a passionate football city in my mind.”
