Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has been called into the Scotland squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Georgia and Germany, the Scottish Football Association has announced.

Armstrong has yet to win a cap for his country, but has impressed national team manager Gordon Strachan with his performances for Celtic to win a place in the squad.

Strachan said: “It’s about dealing with the situation, dealing with the big-game mentality, dealing with the press that comes along and dealing with the crowds.

“That’s something that the boys at Celtic have to deal with all the time, and Stuart, as far as I can see, is dealing with that well.”

Lee Wallace again misses out despite a good start to the season with Rangers.
