SCOTLAND Sevens player Scott Wight has joined Glasgow on loan and is part of the Warriors squad of 28 for the match against Canada in Nova Scotia on Saturday.

A former Glasgow player, Wight will be available for the start of the PRO12 season, providing cover for injured stand-off Gregor Hunter.

Josh Strauss also set out for Canada yesterday and is expected to play to help him get match-fit for the Rugby World Cup. The forward becomes eligible to play for Scotland on eligibility grounds next month.

Kevin Bryce, Mike Cusack and Rory Hughes are also with the travelling party after being released from the Scotland squad. Tim Swinson, who was released from that squad back in June because of injury, could make his comeback on Saturday.
