GLASGOW have completed the signing of Tongan international Sila Puafisi from Gloucester, subject to the prop’s passing a medical and meeting visa requirements. Puafisi, who has 16 caps, is in his country’s squad for the Rugby World Cup and will join up with the Warriors after the tournament. He has signed a one-year contract.
“I’m really excited about joining the Warriors after the Rugby World Cup,” he said. “Gregor [Townsend] told me all about the club, and after speaking to him I really wanted to sign.”
Glasgow have also confirmed that Scotland flanker Hugh Blake has joined on a two-year contract. Blake, who made his Test debut against earlier this month, was on loan from Edinburgh during the last three months of last season.
“We’ve watched Sila for a while now and he has really impressed us,” head coach Townsend said. “He will add to the competition we already have in our front row next season.
“Hugh will add to the depth in the squad and has the ability to play anywhere in the back row. He is an intelligent rugby player who has a big future in the game.”
