SCOTLAND will be looking for a similar outcome tomorrow night against Georgia to the hard-fought 1-0 win they earned at Hampden last October, but it was a different story when the sides met in Tbilisi in 2007…

ROSS (East Kilbride) – Scotland are due to play Georgia tomorrow night in a vital European Championship qualifier in Tbilisi. Under manager Alex McLeish we played them in Tbilisi in 2007 in an equally important European Championship qualifier. Can you tell me the score and the Scotland team?

Scotland lost 2-0 in Georgia. Georgia had three teenagers playing for them including a 17-year-old goalkeeper.

Scotland wore a maroon outfit that night which we believe has never been worn again.

The Scotland team was: Gordon, Murty, Weir, McManus, Alexander, Fletcher, Ferguson, Pearson, Maloney, Miller and McFadden.

FRANK (Cumbernauld) – Discussing the forthcoming match with Germany a claim was made that Scotland once beat Germany in three successive matches. No details were given to back this up can you confirm this was the case?

Hope there is no wager on this question as it is yes / no depending on which list of statistics you use.

On October 14, 1936, Scotland beat Germany 2-0 at Ibrox Park, Jimmy Delaney scoring both goals.

The next meeting was on May 22, 1957, when Scotland won 3-1 in Stuttgart, with goals from Collins (2) and Mudie, then two years later on May 6, 1959, Scotland won 3-2 at Hampden Park, White, Weir and Leggat scoring.

So, in theory, we did win three matches in succession, but in the second and third matches our opponents played as West Germany and are listed as a different team on the SFA archive of results, while some other records do not differentiate this.

JIM (Cadder) – I was sad to hear that former Scotland international player Graham Leggat had passed away. Can you tell me how many caps he won and how many goals he scored for Scotland?

The Aberdeen and Fulham legend played 18 times for his country and scored eight goals.

He won seven of his international caps while playing for Aberdeen and the other 11 whilst at Fulham.

At Fulham he scored one of the fastest hat-tricks in English League football.
