IT has been one out and two in at Firhill this week as Jack Hendry has joined Wigan and we have welcomed Robbie Muirhead and Mustapha Dumbuya to the club.

While we are disappointed to lose Jack from our squad, we are delighted for him to get a move and we wish him all the best down south.

He has come through the ranks here and really progressed quickly. I am not surprised that he has got a move at this stage because he is a very talented player.

It is a great move for him to go to Wigan and I am sure he will handle the step up and ultimately go on to bigger and better things in his career.

I believe he can go there and make an impact right away. He has a lot of confidence and belief in his own ability and Wigan is a good fit for him.

He has got Gary Caldwell to learn from and I am sure we will see him in the first team there sooner rather than later.

It is obviously a great move for Jack but it is a good one for the club as well. We have put a lot of time and effort into the ThistleWeir Academy and it is pleasing to see players coming through the ranks.

It is still quite a new setup and it will get stronger and bigger as the years go on. Gerry Britton is doing a very good job alongside his staff and hopefully we will see more players like Jack coming through in the years to come.

The deal for Jack was completed after we brought Robbie in early on deadline day and we are delighted to add him to the squad on a loan deal from Dundee United. He is a very good young player and I am confident he will do well for us this season.

He has come in and made a really good first impression, he has looked good in training this week and hopefully he can make an impact for us in the coming months.

We are pleased to get him on board and hopefully he can score a few goals for us and help us get a few points on the board.

I don’t know why he hasn’t been playing for United but he can come here and make a real impact for us. He is a real attacking threat and he can play in numerous positions as well, which is important when you have a small squad.

We are delighted to add him to the squad and hopefully it will pay dividends for us in the final third because we are frustrated at how things have gone for us so far.

It is always good when new faces come in and Robbie adds competition for places up front. Hopefully we can kick-start our season sooner rather than later because it has been a slow start for us and we know we could have done better.

We are not hiding from the fact that we haven’t played as well as we should have and we have clicked yet. We have shown in spells that we can be very good but hopefully we can come back after the international break and really get going because the next few games are certainly all winnable.

We are a bit short of numbers and we lost Christie Elliott to a long-term injury so we needed to get another defensive player in. Mustapha is a very quick, athletic full-back and he has good experience as well from his time down in England.

He has settled in quickly with the boys so hopefully he proves to be another good signing for us.

He has played a lot of games in England and we are confident he has got the attributes to fit into the way we want to play. He has shown up well so far and hopefully he can make an impact for us this season.
