WILL VAULKS reckons Falkirk were ‘robbed’ at Ibrox as Rangers clinched a dramatic 3-1 win on Saturday.

The Bairns midfielder pulled Peter Houston’s side level in the first half with a stunning long range effort as he cancelled out Dean Shiels’ opener for the Gers.

But there was controversy late on when Tom Taiwo was penalised for a foul on Nicky Law, and Falkirk’s frustrations were compounded when James Tavernier scored from the resulting free-kick.

Boss Houston was furious with whistler John McKendrick after the game and was hugely critical of his performance in a string of post-match interviews.

Lee Wallace made it 3-1 in the closing seconds and Vaulks insists his gaffer has every reason to be upset after his side were left with nothing to show for their efforts.

He said: “Obviously it’s nice to score a goal like that but we feel a bit robbed to be honest with you.

“It’s hard to see how that was a foul for the second goal. Referees make these decisions and I’m sure it will even out over the season, but we are disappointed.

“It was a good free kick by the lad but we are disappointed about the foul.

“He said he thought Tom took the ball but then took the man after it. I said to him: ‘isn’t that a tackle?’ but to be fair I thought John had a good game up until that point.

“He was getting a lot of stick off the fans but I thought he had a good game until that point. But these things happen.

“We played well, battled hard in what is a tough place to come. Rangers are absolutely flying at the moment but we dug in deep, worked really hard and should have got a point at least out the game.

“They were on top second half but if we’d had a bit more quality in the final third, we’d have got another goal.”
