GLASGOW are in seventh heaven after getting a full team together again - but are now bidding to make it to cloud nine.

The Tigers take on Somerset Rebels over two legs this weekend in a battle to make the Premier League play-off final.

Last time the Ashfield men went to the south-west, they were struggling with injuries and suffered a heavy defeat. But this time they'll take with them seven riders who hit top form against Plymouth on Sunday.

The timely return of Kauko Nieminen has boosted the team after spending most of the season covering for injuries by going into meetings with just six riders.

And although the former Finnish champion admits he's still trying to reproduce the performances that saw him in high demand before he joined Glasgow, he's ready to give it his best shot against the Rebels.

'Nemo' said: "Glasgow is an amazing place at the moment and a great place to be.

"I had a lot of phonecalls during the winter and this summer about coming to the Premier League but I wasn't too keen. Glasgow was the only option that I wanted to take.

"I'm here now and I haven't been too pleased with my results, so I just need to work on it a bit harder.

"I think it's hard to come late on in the season and I don't think it helped that I had an injury straight away. I haven't quite clicked to what I had hoped for but the Glasgow promotion have been so great to me, so I just need to deliver the goods for this week.

"Somerset is normally pretty good for me and I like it there. It should be a good meeting."

The 36-year-old has identified getting out the start as key to upping his game. He added: "Gating seems to be a problem for me at the moment, so I just need to work on that.

"Over in Sweden and Finland, the gates are normally really slick, so over here I'm finding it hard to make the right adjustments to the clutch. The bike wants to come up in the air all the time."

Tigers No 1 Richard Lawson believes that having seven riders together is crucial if they're to get past Somerset - who are led by former Glasgow favourite Josh Grajczonek.

Lawson said: "I’m feeling good for it. The team is really coming together well and it’s nice to have seven riders going into such an important fixture.

"I’m confident and all the boys are going well. I expect good things for the weekend."
