KENNY MILLER is delighted Rangers have hit the ground running this term as they have laid down an early marker of their Championship title intentions.

Mark Warburton’s side rounded off the first quarter of the campaign with 3-1 win over Falkirk earlier this month as they made it nine wins from nine games in the second tier.

The visit of Queen of the South is next up this weekend as the Light Blues look to extend their winning run ahead of the cup clash with Livingston and tricky trips to St Mirren and Hibernian.

Boss Warburton gave his squad some time off during the international break and striker Miller is satisfied ahead of the action against the Doonhamers.

“It’s always nice to finish off with a win before any kind of international break or any time off,” he told rangers.co.uk.

“It means you can go away and enjoy it rather than sitting back and being itching for the next game so you can put a poor result right.

“The boys have done really well, nine wins in a row in the league and we couldn’t have asked for a better start. They way that we have done that is also really pleasing.

“I think we are doing now what everybody feels that we should be doing.

“When a new manager comes in, it can go either way but the lads have really responded to the manager’s methods, his instructions and the way that he wants us to play.

“We’ve signed some really good players and the lads have all hit the ground running and it’s been helped by the fact that we won our first few games.

“That first game against Hibs was so important the way that we came back and it gave us a belief in what we are trying to do. It gave the lads a real confidence to move forward and do what we’ve done.”
