JASON HOLT insisted it is down to the Rangers players and nobody else when it came to beating stuffy opposition.

The Ibrox star was left frustrated by the draw at Livingston, a day when his side failed to work out how to get past a well drilled defence.

That has to change and Holt, who scored and played well at the weekend, insisted the responsibility lies with the men on the pitch.

Holt said: “It was very frustrating for us. Every game we go into we want to try and get the three points and so not to get it today is disappointing. It was nice to get a goal but the most important thing is the team. We never managed to get the win today so it is disappointing.

"It's down to us. We know the way teams will set up and how they will make it difficult for us, but it's up to us to break them down. I think we did lack a bit of quality. I thought we were on top in the first half, but we need to try to create more chances and take them.

“I've experienced it before but it's down to us to try and break the other teams down, It's up to us to create and finish more chances. I think we need to improve on Saturday. Nothing's changed as far as I am concerned - we know what we need to do and that's win every game.”

The party line is that nobody at Ibrox is thinking about Hibs, which is difficult to believe given they have caught up with their main rivals.

Holt insisted it was still all about the Rangers as the Championship title race just got really interesting.

Holt said: “I think we will solely concentrate on ourselves. The gaffer said at the start of the season, it's all about us and we just have to focus on what we are doing.

"We just need to keep doing the things we've been working on and do better. We only concentrate on ourselves and that's our sole focus.

"The stuff that we are doing we just need to keep trying to do better and hopefully we can get back to the way we were playing at the start of the season."
