HARRY FORRESTER has revealed he was never going to turn down the chance to work with Mark Warburton again the moment he heard Rangers wanted him.

The 24-year-old has signed on at Ibrox until the end of this season having negotiated his way out of Doncaster Rovers where he was not in the first-team picture.

Warburton was at Brentford when Forrester, an attack-minded player, spent two seasons and sees the former Aston Villa youth player as a solid signing, albeit one with a lot to prove and who will need to be patient before getting into the team.

And Forrester can't wait to get started at his new club after some frustrating months.

He said: "It is huge (his move). As soon as I found out that Rangers were interested, there was nowhere else I wanted to be.

"There were a few teams in England interested, but as soon as I got the call there was nowhere else I was going.

“It is six months as we speak and obviously I want to stay longer. I have settled in well, I get on with all the lads, training has been good and hopefully I can get some game-time and can progress from there.

“Everyone knows about Glasgow Rangers. It is a massive club, recognised all over the world. So I was over the moon when I heard Rangers were interested and was eager to get it pushed through."

Warburton's presence is a massive reason why Forrester turned down opportunities to remain in English football.

Forrester said: "That was one of the main factors. I needed to go somewhere I was known and the manager knows me and how I play.

"He obviously feels I can fit into the system. So it was vital I came to work the manager and David Weir.

"Predominantly I’m a winger. I have played at ten, but it is anywhere advanced of the midfield. I don’t know where the gaffer wants to play me, but I like it on the left."

Forrester was given the opportunity to sample both very different sides of playing for Rangers this season, the full house at Ibrox for the Hibernian match and then a visit to Dumbarton on Saturday.

Speaking to Rangers TV, Forrester said: "It was an unbelievable atmosphere. It was actually the first time I had ever been to Ibrox. I saw how much it means to the fans.

"It was good for me to soak it up and welcome me to the club; I enjoyed every minute of it.

"Then we go to Dumbarton which is the other end of the scale, but we need to deal with that week-in, week-out."

On Sunday, Warburton signed Polish goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski, who had been with Lech Poznan, on a six month contract

More players are expected to come into Rangers over the next week or so and Kenny Miller, who scored a hat-trick for Rangers at Dumbarton, has no problem with another forward coming to the club.

Miller said: "Harry has been at the club for a few weeks now. He knows some of the lads so that helps.

"Competition for places is always healthy for the manager. Having players come in keeps people on their toes."
