FRANCE today confirmed they will take on Scotland in a friendly international in Metz on Saturday, June 4, in preparation for the Euro 2016 finals later that month.
France are hosting the tournament, which kicks off on June 10, and will finalise their preparations with a game against Gordon Strachan’s side.
Didier Deschamps’ team will play Romania in the opening match in Paris and will then face Group A meetings with Albania and Switzerland.
France will also play Cameroon in a friendly in Nantes on May 30.
Scotland have fond memories of playing France away – they defeated Les Bleus 1-0 in a Euro 2008 qualifier in Paris in 2007 thanks to a James McFadden wondergoal.
Strachan’s charges missed out on the Euro 2016 finals after finishing behind Germany, Poland and the Republic of Ireland in their qualifying section.
