IAN DURRANT has warned his Rangers colts to stop pressing the self-destruct button - by losing killer goals in injury time.

The Ibrox club's Under 20s crashed 2-1 to Falkirk on Monday night after conceding in the 91st minute.

It means Durrant's starlets are still looking to end their winless jinx for 2016.

But the Ibrox legend is adamant that first victory is round the corner - provided his team can see out games when they are in front.

He said: “Falkirk was a sore one. I thought the way we playedwas a credit to them, we totally dominated the game.

“I don’t have the stats yet but I think it’s probably the record amount of chances we’ve created, in terms of shots on goal.

“But you have to take the chances when you’re on top and again we shot ourselves in the foot by leaving the back door open in the last few minutes to lose a goal.

“I wasn’t frustrated but I am standing at the side. You can see Ryan Hardie and Jordan Gibson are frustrated because they missed chances and they feel as though they’ve let the team down.

“They never let anyone down by the way they played and applied themselves, when it’s for you, it’s for you and when it’s not, it’s not.”

“We had double figures in terms of chances and their keeper had to make four or five world-class saves.

“But we’re in these positions and we miss them – on another day we can hopefully take them."

Durrant is determined to remain positive as his team prepare to return to action on Friday night.

He told the club's website: "We have to regroup and that is what happens now.

“When you get a dunt it’s how you react and I said I wanted them back in on Wednesday feeling positive and we’ll see where we are before having another game again on Friday.

“We just have to go again and if they want to be football players here then they have to take the wee knocks and recover.

“Of course we’re confident we can win on Friday. If we keep playing like that, stick to the principles and do the proper things then they’ll win more than they’ll lose.”
