Alan Archibald is proud of Partick Thistle's superior defensive record on the road - but he is anxious to see his team score more goals.

Thistle have conceded fewer away goals than any team in the Ladbrokes Premiership, just 11 in 12 games and two less than Celtic, but they are the lowest scorers in the league, netting 22 goals in 25 games overall.

Ahead of their trip to face in-form Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow, Archibald said of the defensive record: "It's a stat we are proud of but we know it will be tested against a very good Hearts side.

"It was something we wanted to improve on after our first season in the Premier League. We did it last year and we have done it again this year, we have got better defensively.

"The only thing missing this year is the creative aspect, we have not scored enough goals. We are probably the worst in the league with our goal record.

"And that's no slant on our strikers, that's got to come from all over the pitch.

"If we can get that sorted and get more goals at right times in games we know we will be better off in the league."

Archibald acted to improve their goal threat on transfer deadline day by bringing in Celtic attacking midfielder Aidan Nesbitt on loan, and striker Antonio German, but the pair have not featured in Thistle's subsequent two games.

"Nesbitt is ready to go but Antonio is a bit off it fitness-wise, that's why he has not been in yet," Archibald said.

"The games haven't quite suited either. We changed the formation against Dundee UInited. There's every chance they will be involved this weekend."
