Carlton Morris hopes that his goal against Kilmarnock in Hamilton’s last game can help him to impress Alex Neil at Norwich.

Morris has been disappointed in his goal tally since joining Accies on-loan from Neil’s side, netting just four times so far this season.

He wants to make sure that his total is far healthier when he returns to face the former Hamilton boss in the summer.

He said: "It was nice to get back on the score-sheet and even better when it really means something to the team picking up the three points.

"It was all the more important. The boys have got a bit more confidence. I think we're a talented group. For me it was just a matter of time before we started picking up points again.

"I thought it was a solid team performance at Kilmarnock.

"I definitely won't be letting Hamilton down. I'm working my hardest for myself, for Hamilton and for [Alex] to stay in his good books.

"He's a good character to have around at Norwich. I've spoken to him and a few of the other management staff at Norwich since I've been at Hamilton.

"I keep in good touch with Norwich.

"He said that he knew me as a player and that he felt going to Hamilton on loan would be good for me. He felt it would be a good step for me in my football career.

"I was aware of the players who have come through at this club; James McArthur, James McCarthy while Tony Andreu also left here for Norwich City.

"I know Tony well and I spoke to him about coming here.

"There are a few players here who I believe will follow in their footsteps. It's a really good club.

"It's definitely a big attraction if you see young players who have done well here in the past and have moved on.

"That makes you feel sure the club is doing something right when they've got all these players coming through. It's something that I wanted to experience myself. The learning experience I've had here so far has been priceless."
