MARK WARBURTON is delighted Liam Burt has capped a dream week by penning a new Rangers deal.

The midfielder made his Ibrox bow in the victory over Raith Rovers on Tuesday night and has now committed his future to the Gers until May 2018.

Six other Murray Park kids - Jamie Barjonas, Kieran Wright, Kyle Bradley, Jason Krones, Aidan Wilson and Grant Nelson – have also agreed new contracts.

Burt is set to be in the squad for the Scottish Cup clash with Dundee tomorrow and boss Warburton said: “He is a real talent. I like him.

"He trained with the first team squad at a good age, his attitude is good and he shows no fear. He is a young boy with a lot of work to do but he is a real talent.

“I think it is great. You walk into Ibrox and see a shirt hanging up with your name on the back, it is fantastic for a young player.

“If you don’t get excited by that, you shouldn’t be in the game. It is good for the fans. He is a young talent and I am sure he will make a big impact.

“Two boys will be on the bench on Saturday. They have deserved it and if we have to call upon them then I have no hesitation using them.”
